Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals build skills for managing intense emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and cultivating a greater sense of control in their lives. It has been widely recognized for its effectiveness in treating various mental health conditions, particularly those characterized by emotional dysregulation and difficulties in interpersonal relationships. DBT was originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and has since proven beneficial for a range of diagnoses. It has shown success in treating mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders. Additionally, DBT has been applied to address self-harming behaviors, impulsivity, and chronic suicidal thoughts.

DBT combines traditional cognitive-behavioral techniques with acceptance and mindfulness strategies. In our sessions, we will work together to develop skills in distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. By learning and applying these skills, you will be able to experience enhanced emotional resilience, improved relationships, and a greater ability to navigate your concerns.
